TECHNICAL SERVICE / SUPPORT RUMINANTS MANAGER
Function: TECHNICAL SERVICE / SUPPORT RUMINANTS MANAGER - RUMEN PROTECTIVE PRODUCTS
Reports to: COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR RUMINANT PRODUCTS
Key Tasks :
To be the 'fount' of all knowledge with regard to the protected amino acids for ruminants and Rumen protective Vitamin A
Provide high level technical support and product/programme training to the Kemin Sales Force
Provide high level technical support to customers in formulation practices and field projects initiated by the team
Translate project/research findings into technical/commercial/sales tools
Write technical articles and also present at Nutrition conferences/farmer meetings
Be fully conversant with :
Market size/cow numbers etc. by country
Feeding practices at farm level
Outlets for milk
Economics of milk production/payment schemes
Feed compounding industry
Feed formulation practices
Key conferences to promote products
Develop high level contacts at Agricultural Institutes/Research Institutes/professional bodies
Create and share ideas with the "team"
Participate in budget preparation, particularly in Opex for trial/R&D needs
To initiate any trial work necessary to enable concepts to be verified in practical terms
Responsibilities and authorities:
Accountable for technical support and technical development in selected European countries
Accountable for project/trial/R&D needs (part of marketing team)
Maintain Opex (personal) within budget
Accountable for collaboration with marketing/R&D in Herentals
Commercial responsibility is "in built" into this job function as part of the "TEAM", hence profitability of the project is also a Key accountability of the function
Qualification :
University degree in animal science, preferable Animal Nutrition. A higher degree would be appropriate.
5 years plus experience in feed industry
European experience a major asset
Willing to travel
Good communication skills at all levels
Good knowledge of 2 languages or more (minimum English + 1 other language)
