Stillingsbeskrivelse The Department of Maritime Research and Innovation (MFI) has established itself as a dynamic centre of research, education and innovation within the maritime field. With its focus on maritime economics, maritime leadership, cluster development and transport chain optimisation, MFI contributes actively to the continuous improvement of Danish maritime industry competitiveness in the global market.The scientific work at the department is characterised by:• Global orientation and collaboration• Practical relevance of R&D output through close cooperation with industry, maritime organisations and the Danish Maritime Authority• Teamwork, knowledge sharing and inter-disciplinary cooperation• Networking and knowledge disseminationThe Department is looking for a researcher holding a relevant PhD degree within the broad field of international economics. The successful candidate will actively contribute to building up one of the core research perspectives of the department - so far labeled “The macro-perspective: Global shipping market dynamics and framework conditions”. This is currently manned with 1 assistant professor and 1 PhD student. An additional PhD student is expected to start this Autumn. Additionally a full professor position has been opened, and the successful candidate is expected to assist the professor in building up this research platform.The applicant need not be an expert in maritime economics, but should have a keen interest in developing competencies in this field.The Department works in a highly cross-disciplinary fashion. It is therefore of crucial importance that the successful applicant is able and willing to work in teams and across research fields. The successful candidate is also expected to collaborate closely with economists and business leaders in major Danish shipping and maritime equipment manufacturing companies.The Department is governed by an appointed steering group including representatives from major players in the Danish Maritime businesses and leading academics. The day to day working language of the department is English.The associate professorship is a permanent position with an obligation to do research and teaching, including research training, supervision of PhD students, and preparation and participation in administrative work. The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC (i.e. the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations, www.ac.dk).
