The Department of Management Engineering (MAN) invites applications for an associate/assistant professorship in user-oriented innovation and market creation. The position is available from 1 August 2009.The position is attached to the section of Innovation and Sustainability at MAN. The section covers research in design and innovation processes as well as technological and environmental relations in a business perspective and a social perspective. The activities are based on cross-disciplinary competences from both technical research and social sciences.The position is part of a build up within newly established research and educational programmes in engineering design and innovation at DTU. The candidate will be offered challenging work in close collaboration with a cross-disciplinary team of colleagues.Job descriptionThe candidate must be capable of and willing to make general contributions to the academic work at the Department and the work of the section of Innovation and Sustainability in particular.The successful candidate will be expected to conduct research, to publish internationally, to otherwise disseminate research results and to teach, supervise and examine at BSc and MSc levels in subjects within user-oriented innovation and market creation.Qualifications requirementsThe successful candidate will have a PhD degree (or equivalent) as well as the academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding an assistant professorship (for an associate professorship).We are looking for a person qualified in user-oriented innovation and market creation and who has a background in economic sociology or innovation and organisation studies. The candidate should comply with the requirements of an assistant or associate professor position within one or more of the following areas: * staging of user-oriented innovation * co-creation of products and markets * transition of industries leading to new types of product service systems and useCandidates must have a thorough command of English and if not Danish speaking be prepared to acquire sufficient skills in the language to be able to teach in Danish at B.Sc. level.In the assessment of the candidates consideration will be given to * scientific production and research potential * the ability to teach * the ability to promote and utilize research results * an all-round experience basis, preferably including international experience * the ability to contribute to development of the department’s internal and external cooperationSalary and conditions of employmentThe salary and appointment terms are negotiated in accordance with the current collective agreement for Danish University faculty members.All interested candidates irrespective of age, gender, race, religion or ethnic background are encouraged to apply.Application procedureThe applicants are requested to indicate whether they apply for the position as associate or assistant professor.Applications, which should be submitted in English, must include a list of publications.
